Vietnam and France exchange expertise on cultural industries and digital safety
A delegation from the Committee on Culture and Social Affairs of the Vietnam National Assembly visited France to exchange expertise on cultural industry development, heritage preservation, and child protection in the digital environment. Discussions with the French Ministry of Culture focused on creative industries, digital transformation, and the application of artificial intelligence in culture.
In France, the cultural and creative sectors encompass approximately 15 fields, including music, cinema, design, and video games. These industries contribute roughly 100 billion euros to the economy, representing nearly 3% of France's GDP. At the European Union level, these sectors account for 3.9% of the economy and employ approximately 8 million people.
In Vietnam, the Ministry of Science and Technology is implementing a plan for 2026–2030 to enhance digital transformation in child protection. The initiative aims to ensure 100% of children at risk of violence, exploitation, or abandonment are managed within a connected database system. The plan emphasizes using technology for early warning systems, data connectivity, and digital communication to prevent online abuse and protect personal data.
