Vietnam promotes women's economic empowerment and cross-border cooperation
Various initiatives are underway in Vietnam to support women's economic empowerment and administrative reform. In Dien Bien Province, the Women's Union of Dien Bien Province hosted a delegation from three northern provinces of Laos to sign a cooperation memorandum for the 2026–2031 period. The delegation also visited historical sites, including the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Martyrs Temple, to honor the shared history of Vietnam and Laos.
Domestically, local organizations are focusing on entrepreneurship and digital skills. In Ho Chi Minh City, training programs have been launched to teach women livestream selling techniques on platforms like TikTok Shop and Shopee. Similarly, in Phu Lam Ward, the Women's Union is providing support for startups through policy updates, digital transformation guidance, and access to credit to help women stabilize their livelihoods.
In the agricultural sector, women-led cooperatives are driving sustainable growth. For example, the An Hoa Hung Agricultural Cooperative in Dong Nai has successfully developed medicinal herb products, achieving 4-star OCOP status and integrating digital commerce to increase local employment and income.
