Vietnam and Singapore deepen ties through technological cooperation

Vietnam and Singapore have entered a new phase of cooperation focused on science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, and human resource development. During an official visit to Singapore by Tran Cam Tu, a member of the Politburo and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the two nations reinforced their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Through the first Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue, both countries committed to deepening ties in the digital economy and technological connectivity. A Joint Declaration on Technological Connectivity Strategy was established, aiming to position both nations as leading strategic technological partners in Southeast Asia.

The cooperation will prioritize a “Three-Part” model involving the state, researchers, and businesses. Key objectives include establishing mechanisms to connect technological supply and demand, promoting cross-border cooperation for highly skilled human resources, and creating frameworks for risk-sharing in research, intellectual property protection, and the commercialization of new technologies.
