Vietnam approves major provincial development projects in Hà Tĩnh and Nghệ An

Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van chaired a meeting to adjust the master plan of the Vũng Áng Economic Zone in Hà Tĩnh province through 2050. The plan covers about 22,781 hectares, includes five functional zones (free‑trade, industrial, port, tourism‑service, and new urban area), and aims to create a dynamic, sustainable hub with a projected population of 249,000 by 2050. The adjustment aligns with national and regional planning, and calls for modern infrastructure, climate‑adapted design, and minimal land compensation.

In Nghệ An province, the Provincial People’s Council approved a public‑private partnership to invest roughly VND 5.68 trillion in a new administrative centre on about 45 hectares in Vinh Lộc and Đông Lộc. The complex will house the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, National Assembly delegation, and various ministries across up to 12‑storey buildings, serving more than 2,100 officials. The project will affect around 196 households and require the relocation of about 200 graves, with significant land‑use changes in the area.
