Vietnam Moves Forward with Nha Trang‑Liên Khương Highway PPP Study

The Ministry of Construction has assigned the People's Committee of Khánh Hòa province the authority to conduct an investment study for the Nha Trang‑Liên Khương expressway under a public‑private partnership (PPP) BOT model. The planned route spans about 99 km, with a four‑lane, 22‑24.75 m wide carriageway designed for speeds of 80‑100 km/h. The preliminary investment cost is estimated at VND 25,058 billion.

The funding structure proposes state participation of roughly 65 % (about VND 16,286 billion), including central budget support of VND 14,018 billion, with the remainder to be raised from private investors. The first segment, Nha Trang‑Da Lat (≈80.8 km), is slated for development before 2030. The highway will link the South Central Coast to the Central Highlands, creating an east‑west transport corridor that connects deep‑water ports such as Vân Phong and Khánh Hòa, aiming to lower logistics costs and boost industrial, commercial, and tourism growth in the region. Son Hai Group has expressed interest in investing in the Nha Trang‑Da Lat portion, targeting it to become “the most beautiful mountain‑crossing highway in Vietnam.”
