Vietnam approves speed limits for Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway
The Vietnam Road Administration has approved a traffic organization plan for the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway. Under the new regulations, the maximum operating speed for passenger cars, trucks under 3,500kg, and buses with fewer than 29 seats is set at 90km/h. Sleeping buses and other vehicle types are restricted to a maximum speed of 80km/h.
At five interconnected junctions, maximum speeds on branch roads are regulated between 50 and 60km/h. The plan also mandates specific safe following distances based on speed: 70 meters for vehicles traveling between 80-100km/h, 55 meters for 60-80km/h, and 35 meters for speeds at 60km/h.
Road Management Area IV is tasked with implementing the approved plan and monitoring traffic safety. The agency will coordinate with traffic police to enhance safety and may propose adjustments to the traffic organization or signage systems based on infrastructure conditions and actual traffic situations.
