Ho Chi Minh City hosts 3rd Friendship Dialogue for sustainable growth

The 3rd Ho Chi Minh City Friendship Dialogue opened on September 10, 2026, under the theme ‘Local Diplomacy: A Driver for Innovation and Sustainable Growth’. The event brought together nearly 500 delegates, including 35 international delegations from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania.

During the forum, Ho Chi Minh City leaders held bilateral meetings with representatives from various international regions, including officials from Santiago de Cuba, Kratie Province in Cambodia, Xiangkhouang Province in Laos, Tokyo in Japan, and Palmerston North in New Zealand. A key outcome included an agreement between Ho Chi Minh City and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to accelerate the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to stabilize their cooperative framework.

In other regional developments, the second Thang Long-Hanoi Festival commenced, featuring over 20 cultural and artistic activities across various historical sites in Hanoi. Additionally, the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation in Ho Chi Minh City focused on digital transformation and international integration for the 2026–2031 term.

In the medical sector, an international conference on emergency and intensive care medicine was held in Phu Tho province to promote technological updates and international cooperation in healthcare.
