Vietnam police investigate illegal immigration and arson incidents

In Quảng Ninh province, authorities have concluded an investigation into Nguyễn Đức Tiệp for organizing the illegal entry of 12 Chinese nationals. Tiệp admitted to transporting the group from the border area deep into the country in exchange for high fees due to a lack of stable employment. The 12 individuals were identified as having no valid entry documents.

Separately, in Gia Lai province, a man identified as Nguyễn Thanh Bình (54) allegedly used gasoline to set fire to the home of his romantic partner, T. T. H. (41), following a relationship dispute. After starting the fire, Bình reportedly held the woman amidst the flames in an attempt to commit suicide. Local authorities and residents intervened to rescue both individuals, who sustained injuries and were hospitalized. The fire caused an estimated 300 million VND in property damage. Police are currently investigating the incident.
