Vietnam authorities prepare for heavy rain and landslides

Authorities in Vietnam are implementing emergency measures to prepare for heavy rainfall and storm seasons. In Hanoi, the municipal government has mobilized 200 water tankers and ordered drainage units to maintain 24/24-hour shifts at flood-prone locations. Key areas under monitoring include Ba Dinh Square, Nguyen Phong Sac Street, Nam Thang Long Urban Area, and Vo Chi Cong Street. The city has instructed the Department of Construction and technical infrastructure centers to prepare mobile pumps, generators, and clearing equipment to mitigate urban flooding.

In Quang Ngai Province, crews are working urgently to repair a major landslide on National Highway 24. The landslide, located between Km 112+100 and Km 112+200, involves a significant volume of earth and rock that threatens the vital transport link between the eastern and western parts of the province. Despite challenges posed by frequent rain and ongoing traffic, workers are constructing a 130-meter stone gabion wall to stabilize the area and prevent further collapses during the upcoming storm season.
