Vietnam authorities seize illegal livestock and endangered animals

Authorities in Vietnam have intercepted several illegal shipments involving wildlife and livestock. In Cao Bang province, border guards at the Tra Linh International Border Gate apprehended three women attempting to smuggle 20 piglets from China into Vietnam. The individuals were unable to provide documentation for the animals, which weighed a total of 299 kg. The livestock was subsequently seized and destroyed.

In Lao Cai province, investigators initiated legal proceedings against a woman in Bao Nhai commune for violating regulations regarding the protection of endangered and rare animals. Additionally, local authorities in Xuan Quang commune dismantled approximately 200 meters of bird traps used to capture wild and migratory birds.
