Quảng Ninh police prosecute man for illegal bank account trading
In Quảng Ninh, authorities have prosecuted Hoàng Công Quyết for the illegal trade of bank account information. Between late 2025 and April 2026, Quyết reportedly purchased 27 payment accounts for 1 to 1.5 million VND per month and resold them via Telegram for 2 million VND per month. To bypass biometric authentication, he used software to substitute pre-recorded facial images for live verification.
Separately, the Vietnamese banking sector is seeing varied trends. Interest rates remain high and differentiated; ACB leads with 7.8% for 12-month terms, while state-owned banks like Agribank and Vietcombank maintain lower rates around 6.8%. While liquidity pressures in the interbank market have eased due to increased capital mobilization, the gap between credit growth and deposits remains a focus for the State Bank of Vietnam.
Financial institutions are also navigating debt management and digital shifts. Sacombank has been actively seizing collateral to recover debts, while HDBank reports high digital transaction rates. Experts suggest that developing a transparent, digitalized debt trading market is essential for long-term financial stability in Vietnam.
