Vietnam banks' deposit rates diverge, ACB leads with 7.3% annual yield

Surveys of online term‑deposit rates on 18 June and 20 June show a clear segmentation among Vietnamese banks. ACB posted the highest rate at 7.3% per year for a 12‑month deposit, followed by Saigonbank at 7.2%‑7.0% and several lenders—including MBV, VCBNeo, PGBank and VIB—offering a flat 7.0% across various tenors.

State‑owned banks such as Agribank, BIDV, Vietcombank and VietinBank maintained a uniform 6.8% rate for 12‑month and longer terms. Other banks fell into bands between 6.5% and 6.9%, while the lowest rates were under 6%, with SCB at 3.7% for a 12‑month term. The spread between the top and bottom rates reached about 3.6 percentage points, equating to roughly 36 million VND in interest on a 1 billion‑VND deposit over one year.
