Vietnam banks hold deposit rates steady as market stabilises

On July 14, Vietnamese banks showed little movement in deposit rates after Bac A Bank’s earlier adjustment. The highest 12‑month rate was 7.3% per annum offered by ACB, with Saigonbank close behind at 7.2%. State‑owned banks such as Agribank, BIDV, Vietcombank and VietinBank kept their rates unchanged at 6.8% for 12‑month and 18‑month terms.

A day later, market data indicated that most banks continued to list rates in the 6.6‑6.9% range, while a limited number of smaller banks posted rates above 7%. One report noted that a 13‑month term could rise to as high as 9.2% at certain institutions, but the overall trend was one of stability rather than further hikes.
