Vietnam banks' June deposit rates: ACB tops at 7.3% annual

A survey of online deposit rates released in late June shows Vietnam's ACB leading the market with a 7.3% per‑annum rate for 12‑month terms. The state‑owned “Big 4” banks (Agribank, BIDV, Vietcombank and VietinBank) keep a uniform 6.8% rate for 12‑ and 18‑month deposits. Several commercial banks such as Saigonbank, MBV, VCBNeo, PGBank and VIB quote 7.0% for comparable terms, while others fall into bands between 6.9% and 6.5%. The lowest rates observed are 3.7% (SCB) for 12‑month deposits, creating a spread of 3.6 percentage points across the market.

The data highlights a clear segmentation: a high‑rate tier above 7%, a middle tier around 6.8%‑6.9% dominated by large banks, and a lower tier below 6.5% offered by smaller institutions. Savers and investors can use these benchmarks to compare returns on fixed‑term deposits.
