Vietnam banks keep deposit rates steady, ACB tops at 7.8% for 12‑month
A survey of 34 Vietnamese banks conducted on 4 August shows the overall deposit‑rate landscape remains stable. Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) continues to offer the highest rate at 7.8% per year for a 12‑month term, with 7.6% for six months and 7.7% for nine months.
LienVietPostBank (LPBank) holds the second‑best position, posting 7.3% for 12‑month deposits and 7.25% for 18‑month deposits after its early‑August rate hike. Saigonbank follows at 7.2% and Bac A Bank at 7.1%, while several other banks list rates of 7% or higher for the same term.
State‑owned banks – Agribank, BIDV, Vietcombank and VietinBank – maintain a uniform schedule: 4.75% for three‑month deposits, 6.6% for six‑ and nine‑month terms, and 6.8% for 12‑ and 18‑month terms. Other institutions range down to 3.7% (the lowest rate offered by SCB). No further adjustments have been announced since LPBank’s early‑month increase, indicating a broadly stable rate environment.
