Vietnam banks keep online deposit rates stable in July
Surveys of online deposit rates conducted on 16 July and again on 18 July show that Vietnam’s banking market remained largely unchanged. The private‑sector ACB led the market with a 7.3 % per‑annum rate for 12‑month deposits, followed by Saigonbank at 7.2 % and Bac A Bank at 7.1 %. Six banks posted rates of 7 % or higher for the same term.
State‑owned banks – Agribank, BIDV, Vietcombank and VietinBank, often called the “Big 4” – kept their 12‑month and 18‑month rates at 6.8 %, with shorter terms at 4.75 % (1‑3 months) and 6.6 % (6‑9 months). Most other banks clustered in the 6.5‑6.8 % range. The lowest rate observed was 3.7 % for a 12‑month term at SCB.
