Vietnam banks offer cash‑back credit cards for electricity and water bill payments

Vietnamese banks have introduced credit‑card programmes that reward users for paying utility bills with cash‑back or point incentives. VIB’s Super Card lets cardholders earn points equivalent to 5 % of the transaction value when paying electricity and water bills online, with cash‑back rates in certain categories reaching up to 15 %. The card carries an annual fee of VND 999,000 for the primary card and VND 499,000 for a supplementary card.

MB’s Mastercard Platinum offers a 50 % cash‑back on electricity and water bill payments made via the MB Bank app, capped at VND 50,000 for electricity and VND 30,000 for water each month. The card is fee‑free for the first year and thereafter costs VND 399,000 annually, waived if the previous year’s spend exceeds VND 50 million.

TPBank’s EVO card provides a 50 % refund on utility‑type transactions (electricity, water, gas) through the Viettel Digital Service channel, with a maximum of VND 100,000 per month and a total ceiling of VND 300,000 for the promotional period from 1 January to 31 December 2026. The first‑year fee is waived after three qualifying transactions; otherwise the fee is VND 495,000 per year. These programmes aim to lower household expenses by returning a portion of regular utility payments to consumers.
