Vietnam border women support program provides scholarships and livelihood aid

The “Accompanying Border Women” program, a collaborative effort between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Vietnam Women's Union, continues its social welfare initiatives in 2026. Supported by the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), the program provides scholarships and livelihood assistance to women and children in disadvantaged border regions.

In Lang Son province, the program distributed scholarships to 70 students in need and provided 50 million VND to support a “Garden-Pond-Livestock” production model for a local family. In Long Son, activities organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union included legal education regarding border sovereignty and the distribution of 55 million VND in aid, including bicycles for students and tools to help women develop stable incomes.
