Vietnam business forum targets 10% GDP growth through innovation

At the Vietnam Sustainable Development Business Forum (VCSF) 2026, held on October 5, discussions focused on balancing breakthrough economic growth with sustainable development. The event, organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD), addressed the national goal of achieving an average annual GDP growth of 10% or more during the 2026-2030 period.

Hồ Sỹ Hùng, Chairman of VCCI, emphasized the necessity of a model shift to meet these ambitions. He identified four major transitions required for the business community: moving from resource-based growth to productivity and innovation driven by technology and AI; viewing green transformation as a competitive advantage in global supply chains rather than a mere compliance requirement; integrating businesses into shared value chains; and fostering collaboration between the state, local authorities, and enterprises.

The forum highlighted that Vietnam aims to build a high-productivity, digital-driven economy without sacrificing environmental quality for speed, relying instead on innovation and green foundations.
