Austria celebrates Vietnam’s National Day and strengthens ASEAN ties

Austrian parliamentary and government leaders attended a ceremony in Vienna to commemorate the 81st anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day. The event featured high-level representatives, including Austrian National Council President Walter Rosenkranz and Federal Council President Christine Schwarz-Fuchs, alongside Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh.

During the ceremony, Austrian officials praised the progress of bilateral friendship and cooperation over the past 54 years. They specifically highlighted Vietnam’s significant role in facilitating and strengthening cooperation between Austria and ASEAN.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Vu Le Thai Hoang reflected on the historical significance of September 2, 1945, and outlined Vietnam’s development goals, including becoming a modern industrial country by 2030 and a high-income developed nation by 2045. Austrian representatives expressed interest in deepening substantive bilateral ties and promoting people-to-people exchanges.
