Vietnam celebrates cultural ties with Ao Dai competition in Thailand

The inaugural ‘Miss Vietnamese Ao Dai - Thailand’ competition was held in Udon Thani, Thailand, to celebrate Vietnam’s 81st National Day and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand.

Vietnamese Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh stated that culture serves as a bridge to help the two nations understand one another better. The event aimed to promote the Ao Dai as a ‘cultural ambassador’ and foster connections between communities.

A notable feature of the competition was the lack of age restrictions, emphasizing that beauty is timeless. Among the winners were 72-year-old Pomprara Wianwiwat, who won Category B, and 76-year-old Nguyen Thi Gai, who was named second runner-up.
