Vietnam cities launch intensive campaigns to digitize land databases

Major cities in Vietnam are accelerating efforts to complete national land databases through intensive digital transformation campaigns.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has launched a 90-day intensive campaign to finalize the national land database. The initiative aims to ensure data is accurate, complete, and synchronized. The city aims to have at least 80% of eligible land data standardized and synchronized with the national data center by November 30, 2026. This process involves digitizing, cleaning, and verifying land user information in coordination with local police and national population databases.

In Hanoi, a 45-day campaign is also underway. As of August 13, 2026, Hanoi reported 4,902,427 land parcels recorded on maps, an increase of over 924,000 parcels compared to previous stages. The city has also worked to verify and synchronize identity information for over 2.8 million land parcels and apartments with the national population database. Hanoi currently ranks fifth among 34 provinces and cities in the country for its progress in land database construction.
