Vietnam clears most landslide blockages on national roads

The Vietnam Road Administration reported that within 24 hours three of five previously blocked road points were cleared, leaving four remaining landslide‑related blockages. Central‑managed highways and expressways have been free of blockages since July 17, while local roads continue to see intermittent closures.

Key reopenings include the temporary clearance of Kilometer 76+250 on National Route 12, restoring traffic between Lai Châu and Điện Biên. Additional work on National Route 32 in Lào Cai and Route 279 in Lào Cai has also allowed traffic flow, with remaining unaddressed points at Km 354 on Route 32 (Lai Châu) and Km 139+300 on Route 279 (Lào Cai). Provincial authorities are maintaining 24‑hour monitoring and rapid response to new incidents amid ongoing heavy rain and flooding.
