Vietnam Communist Party adopts new regulations for Central Committee meetings

The Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam issued Decision No. 206‑QD/TW, signed by Politburo member Trần Cẩm Tú, establishing detailed rules for convening the Central Committee (Ban Chấp hành Trung ương Đảng). The 17‑article regulation specifies the composition of participants—including full and alternate members and invited guests—meeting frequency (twice a year, with adjustments as needed), procedures for preparation, discussion, voting, questioning, and record‑keeping, as well as the responsibilities of delegates and the role of the General Secretary in chairing the sessions. It also mandates dissemination of meeting materials on tablets at least five days before the conference and outlines handling of state‑secret documents.

The new rules complement earlier Politburo Decision No. 171‑QD/TW, adopted on 20 May 2026, which clarified the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and other mass organisations, and set expectations for implementing Party resolutions and directives throughout the second half of the year.
