Vietnam Communist Party advances reforms on Party Charter and publishing law

Seventeen members of the Vietnamese Politburo have joined a steering committee to study amendments to the Party Charter, aiming to strengthen discipline, prevent decay and improve oversight. Vice‑Premier Lê Tiến Châu stressed a shift toward stronger supervision of law‑enforcement bodies as part of the broader initiative.

Concurrently, the National Assembly’s Culture and Social Affairs Committee has endorsed a draft amendment to the Publishing Law. The proposal revises 27 of the law’s 54 articles, eliminates registration fees for importing publications, and introduces provisions to support digital and electronic publishing in line with the Party’s strategic goals for digital transformation and cultural industry development.
