Vietnam compensates residents for Gia Bình Airport and Ring Road 4 projects

The Gia Bình International Airport project in northern Vietnam is proceeding with land‑acquisition compensation. From July 31 to August 2, authorities paid more than 1.118 trillion VND to 337 households for the first phase, covering over 7.8 ha of land. A second phase will compensate about 356 billion VND for 92 households on an additional 2.1 ha. The airport, a national priority, is planned on roughly 450 ha with a total investment of over 68.6 trillion VND (about US$8 billion) and will meet ICAO 4F standards.

In the south, the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 (Vành đai 4) project is also disbursing compensation. More than 2.9 trillion VND has been paid to households in the Bà Rịa‑Vũng Tàu area, affecting 576 families. The first tranche paid over 2.6 trillion VND to 309 households, while subsequent payments have covered additional families, with total local disbursements nearing 75 billion VND for 27 households in the Châu Đức commune. Both projects aim to boost regional connectivity and economic development.
