Overview

In early August 2026 Vietnam continued large‑scale land‑acquisition compensation for several flagship infrastructure projects. On 3 August, authorities paid more than 1.118 trillion VND to 337 households for the first phase of the Gia Bình International Airport project and over 2.9 trillion VND to 576 families affected by the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 expansion. The following day, the Uông Bí ward in Quảng Ninh began the first disbursement for the Hanoi‑Quang Ninh high‑speed rail, giving 4.8 billion VND to 15 households, part of a broader program covering 260 cases. Across the projects, compensation totals run into trillions of VND, targeting hundreds of households and thousands of hectares, aiming to clear land quickly and keep the projects on schedule.
