Vietnam delays toll collection on Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway

The Vietnam Road Administration has announced that toll collection for two component projects of the Can Tho - Ca Mau section of the North-South Expressway will be delayed. Although a directive previously set a start date of September 15, 2026, the projects are currently undergoing necessary technical improvements.

Work is ongoing to address road subsidence at bridge approaches and culvert entrances to ensure smooth traffic flow. Additionally, toll collection equipment at interchanges IC.2, IC.5, and IC.12 is being finalized for testing, while several other interchanges (IC.3, IC.4, IC.6, IC.8, IC.9, and IC.10) remain under construction. The Vietnam Road Administration has requested the My Thuan Project Management Board to prioritize these completions to enable toll collection as soon as possible.

Since the beginning of the year, 15 other component projects of the North-South Expressway have successfully implemented toll collection, contributing over 2,142 billion VND to the state budget.
