Vietnam Deputy PM urges acceleration of strategic highway projects
Vietnam's Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc inspected two strategic highway projects in Lang Son province on September 27: the Huu Nghi-Chi Lang highway and the Dong Dang-Tra Linh highway. These routes are intended to enhance regional connectivity and drive socio-economic growth in the Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces by facilitating trade, goods transport, and tourism.
Deputy Prime Minister Tuc urged authorities, investors, and contractors to resolve existing difficulties and complete land clearance by October 2026. The goal is to have both projects operational before the 2027 Lunar New Year. To meet this timeline, he called for increased machinery and human resources to take advantage of favorable weather conditions.
Additionally, Lang Son has been tasked with coordinating with central ministries to accelerate a pilot project for a smart border gate. This project is linked to the Huu Nghi (Vietnam)-Youyi Guan (China) international border crossing to streamline freight transport.
