Vietnam distributes national reserve rice to support students

Vietnam is implementing a national reserve rice distribution program to support students and trainees for the first semester of the 2026-2027 school year. Following decisions from the Ministry of Finance and the Department of State Reserves, local authorities in several provinces are coordinating the allocation and delivery of food aid.

In Da Nang, nearly 1,773 tons of rice are being allocated to support 19,318 students across 83 schools in 26 communes. The distribution is divided into two phases, with the first phase providing support for two months and the second for three months. In Quang Ngai, approximately 1,554 tons of rice have been approved for distribution.

In Quang Tri and Hue, local governments have issued decisions for the first phase of allocation. The Department of State Reserves is working closely with education departments and local authorities to manage logistics, particularly in mountainous areas where difficult terrain and weather conditions pose challenges to transportation and delivery.
