Vietnam national reserve rice distribution for students

Vietnam has initiated a national reserve rice distribution program to support students and trainees during the 2026-2027 academic year. Coordinated by the Ministry of Finance and the Department of State Reserves, the program targets students in disadvantaged and mountainous regions.

In early October, local authorities in provinces such as Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, and Hue began allocating thousands of tons of rice to schools and communes. In Da Nang alone, nearly 1,773 tons were designated for over 19,000 students across 83 schools. Logistics in these areas have required close coordination to manage transportation challenges posed by difficult terrain and weather.

By late October, the State Reserve Department Area VII reported the completion of distributing over 1,800 tons of rice to support students in Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa provinces. This phase included specific allocations for boarding schools, vocational centers, and the Sam Son Ethnic University Preparatory School, utilizing multiple warehouse points to ensure timely delivery.
