Vietnam doctors revive drowning victim at Nhat Le beach

Around 6 a.m. on 21 July, a team of five physicians from Tuyên Quang Provincial Multi‑specialty Hospital was on vacation at Nhat Le beach when local rescue crews brought a man ashore who had been swept out by the sea. The victim was in cardiac arrest and not breathing.

The doctors, working with the regional 115 emergency responders, used a portable first‑aid kit to perform continuous cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including chest compressions, bag‑valve‑mask ventilation, and intubation. After roughly ten minutes of effort, the man's circulation returned and he was transferred to the Vietnam‑Cuba Friendship Hospital in Đồng Hới for further care.

The incident highlighted the critical "golden minute" for water‑related cardiac arrests and the doctors urged the public to remove drowning victims quickly, call emergency services, and begin CPR without resorting to ineffective folk methods.
