In late July 2026, two separate drowning emergencies on Vietnamese beaches underscored the life‑saving impact of rapid, correct cardiopulmonary resuscitation. On 21 July, a team of five physicians from Tuyên Quang Provincial Multi‑specialty Hospital, vacationing at Nhat Le beach, responded to a man in cardiac arrest. Using a portable first‑aid kit, they performed continuous CPR, restoring circulation within about ten minutes before transferring the victim to Vietnam‑Cuba Friendship Hospital.

A week later, on 29 July, medical student Pham Tuan Hung intervened at Hai Hoạ beach after observing an incorrect CPR attempt. He guided a bystander in artificial respiration, performed chest compressions, and helped the victim regain breathing and consciousness before the victim was taken to Nghe Son General Hospital. Both incidents highlighted the critical “golden minute” in water‑related cardiac arrests and reinforced the need for proper first‑aid training among healthcare professionals and the public.
