In Bac Ninh province, a 38‑year‑old man identified as T. Th. H. was fined 1.7 million VND for riding a motorbike with four female passengers, failing to wear a helmet and exceeding the legal passenger limit. Authorities are also checking the four passengers for helmet violations.
A separate analysis of a collision on the Hanoi‑Thái Nguyên highway on 22 June highlighted three common driver errors: an unexpected lane change without prior planning, failure to decelerate despite a brake light signal, and stopping in the high‑speed left lane, which can precipitate secondary crashes.
In Thanh Hóa province, a hit‑and‑run on 27 June left a woman with a complex ankle fracture. The driver, D. V. H., fled the scene but was located in Sam Son after more than ten hours. Under Vietnamese law, such offenses can attract fines up to 10 million VND and criminal sentences of up to ten years.
On 2 July, a severe crash on the Ho Chi Minh road in Lâm Đồng province involved a truck colliding with motorcycles, killing three people, including the truck driver and two passengers. Police and prosecutors are investigating the cause of the accident.
