Vietnam Education Ministry integrates AI into teacher training programs

The Ministry of Education and Training held a conference at Hanoi National University of Education to outline a new strategy for incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into teacher education. Deputy Minister Lê Quân emphasized that AI should be embedded throughout curricula, moving from a single course to a cross‑cutting component that shapes learning outcomes, teaching methods, and assessment tools. The reform calls for restructuring teacher‑training programs to include AI‑enhanced lesson design, personalized learning support, and the creation of research centres focused on AI applications in education. The ministry also plans to develop AI‑related standards for teacher competencies and to promote ethical use of technology in classrooms.

These measures aim to prepare Vietnam’s future educators for the rapid digital transformation of schools, ensuring they can effectively leverage AI while upholding professional ethics and cultural values.
