Vietnam Education Publishing House sees textbook queues in Ho Chi Minh City

Parents in Ho Chi Minh City have been queuing at the Vietnam Education Publishing House (NXBGDVN) to purchase textbooks for the upcoming school year. Despite the start of a public holiday, many parents visited the headquarters on Nguyen Van Cu Street to secure supplies for their children.

While some parents reported difficulty finding specific titles, such as certain Grade 2 Mathematics and Vietnamese textbooks, staff have indicated that stock will be replenished after the holiday. To manage limited supply and prevent hoarding, the publishing house has implemented a policy where customers may only purchase books for one grade level per turn.

Recent data shows that the rush for textbooks peaked around August 22, with approximately 3,600 customers and over 80,000 books sold in a single day. While the intense crowds seen in previous days have subsided, the publishing house remains open throughout the holiday period, operating from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM daily to assist families.
