Vietnam electric motorcycle market seeks to replace gasoline vehicles
The transition toward electric motorcycles in Vietnam requires more than just replacing internal combustion engines with electric motors. To effectively replace gasoline-powered vehicles, electric motorcycles must meet high standards for range, power, durability, and charging convenience to match the daily commuting habits of users.
Statistics from the Traffic Police Department indicate that there are over 84 million registered two-wheeled motorcycles in Vietnam. In the first half of 2026, new registrations reached 1,825,459, an increase of nearly 700,000 compared to the same period in 2025. As the market evolves, manufacturers are pressured to move beyond providing mere alternative transport to offering high-performance technology that enhances the user experience.
