Vietnam Electricity (EVN) faces 40 billion‑dong arrears claim and power‑line project delay

The KCP Vietnam Industrial Co., a 100 % Indian‑owned firm in Đắk Lắk, reported that Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and its power‑trading subsidiary owe it nearly 40 billion VND in unpaid electricity fees. The debt consists of about 4 billion VND from 2018, delayed over licensing changes, and roughly 36 billion VND from 2024, held up by pending acceptance documentation. The company says the prolonged non‑payment has forced it to borrow to keep operations running and has lodged a complaint with provincial parliamentary representatives.

Separately, EVN’s National Power Transmission subsidiary (EVNNPT) is accelerating completion of the 500/220 kV Nho Quan–Phủ Lý–Thường Tín transmission line. The 80‑km project, originally slated for 2025, is now expected to finish in July 2026 due to land‑acquisition and right‑of‑way obstacles. Most pole foundations and concrete works are done, but remaining tasks include clearing houses, trees and completing wiring on several sections. EVN officials are urging local authorities to resolve compensation and clearance issues to meet the revised schedule.
