Vietnam Eliminates Computer‑Based Simulation Tests for Drivers and High‑School Graduates
Effective 1 July 2026, the Ministry of Public Security’s Circular 108/2026/TT‑BCA removes the computer‑simulation component from the driving licence exam in Nghệ An province. Learners at the PTS training centre said the change reduces exam pressure and allows more focus on practical driving skills. One trainee noted, “Việc bỏ bài thi mô phỏng là thiết thực, giúp học viên giảm áp lực.”
The Ministry of Education and Training has also completed a draft plan for a computer‑based high‑school graduation exam covering 2026‑2036. The system will automate test distribution, data backup, identity verification and grading, and will use AI to build a standardized question bank. A pilot in 2026 will involve 15 provinces, 143 schools, about 36,000 candidates and roughly 143,000 computer‑based test sessions. The reform aims to reduce subjective human interference and improve the reliability of exam results.
