A 2026 pilot will involve 15 provinces, 143 schools, roughly 36 000 candidates and about 143 000 test sessions, aiming to curb subjective human influence and boost result reliability. The plan was finalised in late July, with the first rollout set for 2027 in locations that meet infrastructure and staffing criteria. The system will run on a closed LAN network with multi‑layer encryption, automatically log actions, and use an AI‑generated question bank. Answers will be saved periodically to protect against power or hardware loss. Most subjects will be computer‑based, while the Vietnamese language essay remains paper‑based, reflecting a broader push for AI‑assisted, secure and fair assessment across education and licensing.
