Vietnam enhances OCOP product quality and cultural value

Vietnam is focusing on enhancing the quality and sustainability of its One Commune One Product (OCOP) program. In Phu Tho province, there are currently 601 OCOP products with 3-star ratings or higher. Because OCOP certifications are valid for only three years, producers must undergo re-evaluation to maintain their status, ensuring consistent standards in food safety, raw materials, production processes, and intellectual property.

In Hanoi, OCOP products are being developed as “cultural ambassadors” to increase economic value and preserve heritage. High-quality items, such as the 5-star OCOP jade glaze ceramic sets from Bat Trang produced by the Tan Thinh Ceramics Production and Business Cooperative, are being positioned as diplomatic gifts. These products, crafted by artisans like Tran Duc Tan, are successfully reaching international markets, including official exports to India.
