Vietnam ensures textbook supply and advances education reforms

The Vietnam Education Publishing House (NXBGDVN) has completed the distribution of 228 million textbooks and 84 million workbooks and reference books ahead of the new school year. The supply has exceeded initial plans, with orders reaching over 150% of the original target. NXBGDVN has prioritized remote, mountainous, and island regions, ensuring that all schools in these difficult areas, including 108 inter-level boarding schools at borders, have received sufficient materials. In some cases, the publisher has provided entire sets of textbooks for free to schools in particularly disadvantaged areas.

Parallel to these logistical efforts, the Ministry of Education and Training is implementing comprehensive reforms to the national education program and textbooks. Key objectives include improving the quality of preschool and general education by streamlining content and enhancing practical learning through STEM, digital literacy, and selective AI applications. The Ministry aims to reduce administrative burdens on teachers by cutting unnecessary competitions and paperwork. Furthermore, reforms will focus on modernizing examination models for high school graduation and university admissions to ensure fairness and transparency, while strengthening measures to prevent school violence and protect students in digital environments.
