Vietnam expands AI integration from corporate strategy to small business tools

Recent technology events in Ho Chi Minh City have highlighted the growing integration of Artificial Intelligence across different sectors of the Vietnamese economy, from corporate leadership to micro-businesses.

At the ‘Accelerating Vietnam Toward Agentic AI Leadership’ event organized by upGrad Vietnam, discussions focused on the readiness of businesses to adopt Agentic AI. Surveys of technology leaders indicate that while many companies are in the experimental phase, only 9% have implemented AI across their entire organizations. Experts noted that competitive advantage lies not just in owning technology, but in how businesses connect AI with existing data, processes, and human workflows. Research suggests that companies leading in AI capabilities can achieve five times higher revenue growth and three times higher cost savings than their peers.

Simultaneously, the launch of a ‘Multitasking AI Assistant’ by HLB and Sổ Bán Hàng targeted micro-SMEs and online shop owners. This technology aims to simplify business operations through Vietnamese voice recognition, allowing users to manage orders, inventory, and debt tracking via natural speech commands. The tool is designed to automate bookkeeping, reconcile bank balances in real-time, and assist with tax declarations, addressing common operational bottlenecks for small merchants.
