Vietnam expands airline ground handling and offers fee discounts

Sun Group has launched its own ground handling company, Phu Quoc Airport Ground Services Company, at Phu Quoc Airport. The move brings handling operations in‑house for Sun Phu Quoc Airways, reducing reliance on external providers such as Hanoi Ground Services and Saigon Ground Services. While the new unit will manage services at Phu Quoc, the airline may continue outsourcing at other airports where it is more efficient.

Lien Khuong International Airport in Da Lat, reopened after five months of repairs, is offering up to 50% discounts on takeoff, landing and ground handling fees for new international routes for up to 24 months. Regular flights receive a 50% discount in the first year and 30% in the second, while seasonal charter flights get a 30% discount in the first year. The incentives aim to lower operating costs, stimulate airline expansion and boost tourism to Vietnam’s Central Highlands.
