Vietnam expands commercial and high-tech investment ties

In Vietnam, major commercial and technological developments are underway in Quang Ninh and Hanoi. In Quang Ninh, AEON Vietnam partnered with the Department of Industry and Trade to connect local producers and cooperatives with its supply chain. This initiative aims to integrate high-quality local products, including OCOP certified goods, into AEON’s distribution network. Additionally, AEON is progressing with the AEON MALL Ha Long project, a 91,000m2 commercial center expected to begin operations in November 2026.

In Hanoi, a consortium including Jeju Semiconductor, APACT, and FPT Korea has signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a semiconductor packaging and testing plant at the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park. The project involves an investment of over $100 million, with construction slated to begin in November 2026 and production targeted for the first quarter of 2028. Hanoi officials expressed hope that this investment will foster a complete semiconductor ecosystem, encompassing research, development, and high-quality human resource training.
