Vietnam advances OCOP products through digital tools and cooperative production
Vietnam is seeing a significant push to modernize and digitize its One Commune One Product (OCOP) program. In Hanoi, the Department of Industry and Trade has launched the ‘Digital Stall’ program and the ‘OCOP Hanoi’ TikTok channel. This initiative, in collaboration with TikTok Vietnam, aims to help local businesses, cooperatives, and artisans connect with consumers through short videos and livestreams, moving beyond traditional sales to digital storytelling.
In other regions, producers are shifting from small-scale farming to organized, high-quality production models. In Dien Bien, farmers are forming cooperatives to create large-scale raw material areas for products like Pu Lau honey pineapple, macadamia, and tea, ensuring stable output and market competitiveness. Similarly, the Ham Rong Agricultural and Service Cooperative has seen significant revenue growth by implementing strict quality controls for coffee production, helping its KRS COFFEE brand achieve 3-star OCOP certification.
