Vietnam expands robotics and technology ecosystem through industry-academia partnerships
AICAP, a Ho Chi Minh City-based technology firm, has announced a strategic partnership with the China Robotics Industry Development Alliance (CDRA), AIBRAIN, and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH). The collaboration aims to develop a commercial and operational robotics platform tailored to the Vietnamese market.
Key areas of cooperation include deploying service robots for cleaning and continuous operations in hotels, shopping centers, office buildings, and industrial zones. The initiative also focuses on research, teaching, and training in robotics within universities and research institutes, as well as hosting interactive robot demonstrations at tourist destinations and cultural events.
To ensure practical application, the partnership seeks to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial needs. HUTECH Vice Rector Nguyen Thanh Phuong emphasized the importance of building common technological platforms and communication standards to integrate various components, rather than attempting to create a single robot for all needs. This approach requires training professionals capable of analyzing real-world requirements, designing solutions, and integrating complex systems.
