Vietnam experts advocate proactive healthcare through nutrition

The Vietnam Association for Health Promotion Consulting, in collaboration with the Central Health Education Communication Center and the Vietnam News Agency, held a scientific seminar titled “Proactive Healthcare, Starting from Meals.”

Associate Professor Dr. Pham Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Health Promotion Consulting, emphasized that proactive health management should begin through daily dietary choices rather than waiting for medical intervention. He noted that nutrition impacts long-term physical health, metabolism, immunity, aging, and the risk of non-communicable diseases.

Dr. Binh outlined three essential transitions for improving public health: moving from eating by habit to eating with knowledge, shifting from controlling formal quality to ensuring substantive food safety and production standards, and transitioning from viewing health as solely a medical sector responsibility to a shared responsibility of all society.
