Vietnam faces textbook shortages despite high production volumes

Despite the distribution of 228 million textbooks, many students in Vietnam are facing local shortages as the new school year begins. In Ha Tinh province, some students lack necessary materials, forcing schools to find flexible solutions to prevent learning disruptions and leading some parents to consider photocopying books despite copyright concerns.

Reports indicate a disconnect between total supply numbers and local availability. While production volumes have exceeded initial orders, parents in various regions have had to travel long distances or wait in long queues to secure books. This logistical gap persists despite directives from the Ministry of Education and Training to ensure all materials are available before the start of the school year.
