Vietnam faces widespread thunderstorms and heavy rain on June 11
The Vietnam National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasts warns that on 11 June, much of the country will experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, with localized heavy rainfall of 60–80 mm. The storm system may bring lightning, hail, strong gusts and even tornado‑like vortices, posing risks to agriculture, homes, roads, and maritime activities as ships could encounter high waves.
In Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces, rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue into the evening, with typical rainfall of 5–25 mm and occasional amounts exceeding 30 mm. Temperatures will range from 25 °C to over 34 °C, and southwest winds will be moderate. Authorities advise residents to take precautions against local flooding and strong winds, especially in low‑lying areas.
